Brief Profile

The Arab, Hadramout Yemenni emigratd to North Americaes from Yemen. Their name originates from the region currently retained in Hadhramaut Governorate of the Republic of Yemen on the Arabian Peninsula.

The people of Hadhramaut are called Hadhramis and speak Hadhrami Arabic. Since the early 19th century they have emigrated from their homeland to other countries, but only recently have they begun to migrate to North America. They are strict in their Islamic observance and highly respected in religious and secular affairs.

p>Originally, the Hadhramis were nomadic. Today approximately half reside in cities, towns and villages. This is also the case of the diaspora Hadhrami as they have settled larger metro ares.
