Midway Islanders migrated from a small group of islands in the central Pacific. Midway Islands is an unincorporated United States territory that is approximately 1300 miles northwest of Hawaii. As its name suggests, Midway is roughly equidistant between North America and Asia.

There are no indigenous inhabitants on Midway Islands today but there is a small population of Micronesians from Midway reported in the United States. Micronesians are many ethnicities, but are all descended from and belong to the Micronesian culture.

The Micronesian culture developed from a mixture of Melanesians and Filipinos. Because of this mixture of descent, many of the ethnicities feel closer to some groups in Melanesia, or the Philippines.

A overwhelming majority of Midway Islanders claim Christianity.
