The Vlax Romani, known as the Kalderash Vlax Romani in Canada, people are a dialect speaking group of the Romani language. It is a recognized minority language in Hungary, Romania, Poland and Serbia. Vlax Romani varieties are spoken mainly in Southeastern Europe by Romani people. Vlax Romani can also be referred to as an independent language or as one dialect of the Romani language. Vlax Romani is the most widely spoken dialect subgroup of the Romani language worldwide. The majority of Vlax Romani speakers reside in several European countries.
The Kalderash traditional dress is one of the most famous Romani traditional dresses, and is still worn. Moreover, traditionally, they married at a very young age (15–20, last 20 years in Russia 12–18) and have very strict customs relating to hygiene.
The primary religion practiced by the Vlax Romani is Roman Catholic. However, many practice a more secular and non-religious lifestyle.
