African American, also known as Black American or Afro-American, make up the second most populated people group in the United States.

The vast majority of African Americans adhere to Protestant Christianity. Large numbers follow the Black church which refers to churches that are predominantly African-American congregations. The largest Protestant denomination among African Americans is the Baptists, then followed by Methodists, and Pentecostals. A smaller percentage of African American adhere to Islam.

  • Pray for the evangelical African American Christians to understand and open their hearts to the Great Commission of "go and make disciples of all nations."
  • Pray that God will call out evangelical African American Christians to go cross-culturally engaging the many unreached unengaged people groups both in the United States and abroad.
