The Zimbabwean diaspora homeland is Zimbabwe. Estimates point to millions of Zimbabweans residing outside of Zimbabwe's borders who were either born in the country or are descended from immigrants. Many recent emigrants are illegally residing in other countries because of the fall of the standard of living and economic conditions in Zimbabwe.

The Zimbabwean diaspora is highly literate in English and are often a very highly educated. The main languages spoken are English, Shona, and Ndebele. However, they are diverse, consisting of individuals of differing racial, ethnic, class, and political groups. There also are asylum seekers, refugees, labour migrants, students, undocumented migrants, etc.

Religiously, they claim being either Protestant Christians or Roman Catholics.
