Montenegrins are a people group who migrated from the nation of Montenegro. Diaspora communities exist in several countries: including Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Turkey, Argentina, Germany, Luxembourg, Chile, Canada, and Australia to name a few.

Historically, the Montenegrin people were a part of the Serb peoples. They also often speak Serbian as their first language. Nevertheless, when asked who they are, they will respond Montenegrin. They take pride in their unique social, national, and cultural identity being Montenegrins instead and not being Serbs.

The majority of Montenegrins do not claim adherence to any religion. Those who do declare Orthodox Christianity, predominantly belonging to the Serbian Orthodox Church with another minority belonging to the uncanonical Montenegrin Orthodox Church.
