Catalan people trace their historic origins chiefly located in northern Spain. They also makeup people with origins adjacent with southern France, known as Catalonia. Also, they include people from other areas where the Catalan language is spoken.
The Catalan language is a Romance language. Romance languages are modern languages that evolved from spoken Latin.
Catalans claim Roman Catholic as their religion of source. However, the majority are more influenced and live a lifestyle of secularization. Hence, most Catalans are non-practicing Catholics, and are practicing agnostics and atheists.
