Brief Profile

Central African people are a people group cluster possibly including the Baya, Banda, Mandjia, Sara, Mboum, M'Baka, Yakoma, and Fula or Fulani people groups. They migrated from the Central African Republic, a volatile and poor region that has a long history of development, governance, and human rights problems.

Many Central Africans converse in French with one another yet at the same time can speak English.

A large percentage, upward to 25%, of Central Africans are Protestant Christians. However, animistic beliefs and practices strongly influence the Christian majority. Other large percentages of Central Africans adhere to Roman Catholicism or indigenous beliefs. A small percentage adhere to Islam.

When meeting Central African people, please email info@peoplegroups.info if you discover that any belong to one the following people groups ... Baya, Banda, Mandjia, Sara, Mboum, M'Baka, Yakoma, Fula, or Fulani.

Prayer Points

  • Pray for Central Africans to live lives that are above reproach and to be bold in their testimonies.
  • Pray for Central African Christians to be pure in their faith and not allow the mixture of traditional animistic beliefs and practices.
  • Pray for Central African believers and Churches to catch a vision for reaching not only their people, but other near-culture unreached people groups.
