Georgians migrated from Georgia, a country bounded to the west by the Black Sea, to the north by Russia, to the south by Turkey and Armenia, and to the southeast by Azerbaijan. In Georgia, they constitute a majority of the population.

They call themselves Kartvelebi, their land Sakartvelo, and their language Kartuli. They trace their ancestry lineage to the great grandson of the Biblical Japheth.

Dinners can last for hours with the role of the tamada (toastmaster) being an important and honored position.

They claim that Simon and Andrew brought them Christianity. The majority of Georgians are Eastern Orthodox Christian and most follow their national Georgian Orthodox Church. However, many nominally identify themselves with Orthodox Christianity and state that religion does not necessarily play an important role in their day-to-day life.
