The Navaho, also known as the Diné and traditionally spelled Navajo, are a Native American people predominantly located in northeast Arizona on the Navajo Nation. The Navaho Nation surrounds the Tewa and the Hopi, Hopitu-Shinumu who reside in 12 villages on the Hopi Reservation.

The Navajo Nation covers 27,425 square miles in northeastern Arizona, southeastern Utah, and northwestern New Mexico making it the largest land area retained by a United States Native American people. It also has the largest Native American government.
