The Washington-Arlington-Alexandria, DC-VA-MD-WV Metro Area, the capital of the United States, includes all of the federal district and parts of the U.S. states of Maryland and Virginia, along with a small portion of West Virginia.

Profile

As the capital of the United States, the Metro Area has a diverse population with people groups and nationalities coming from all over the world. Moreover, those coming have high education levels. On the other hand, though, disparity does exist among people groups in terms of their socio-economic status with some having very high incomes while others do not. There are very few gospel centered churches in the city compared to the population size. Many of these churches have little or no outreach to the multitude of people groups surrounding them. Reaching the diverse population requires overcoming barriers of affluence and poverty, language and culture, religion and prejudice, and the darkness of spiritual liberalism and indifference.
